Up and running in under a minute

The overlay at a glance

Main interface in the default Deep Ocean theme — colour-coded Timestamp Links, highlighted matches, Append Search active.

• Top bar — Logo, website & channel links, opacity slider, theme picker, layout A/B slots, minimise, and Settings/Help (⚙).
• URL bar — Paste a video URL, lock it (Pro), and Load Transcript.
• Video info row — Title, channel, duration (and the minimap show/hide ▾ control).
• Left pane — Timestamp Links — Colour-coded search batches and manual entries, with Select All, Delete, Prev/Next.
• Right pane — Search field, case toggle, Search/Clear, view mode, font size, Teleprompter (Pro), sync offsets, transcript, minimap, and transport controls.
• Bottom bar — Export, Pro licence button, and noticeboard.

Straight from YouTube’s captions

• Once loaded, title, channel, and duration appear. Click any transcript line to seek the video.
• Language / caption-track picker ★ Pro — Long-press Load Transcript to choose among available languages and tracks (official, auto-generated, etc.).
• URL lock ★ Pro — Long-press the lock icon. When locked, the URL and transcript stay frozen even if you navigate to another video. Useful for screen capture or multi-tab comparison.

Language selection menu — choose the caption track that best matches the video.

Find every occurrence instantly

• Case sensitivity — Toggle with the Aa button.
• Whole-word matching — Available as a persisted preference.
• Search (A) / Append mode ★ Pro — Long-press Search to toggle. When active, the button shows “Search (A)” and new results are added to the existing Timestamp Links list instead of replacing it.
• History — Recall previous queries. Pro users get a longer history depth.
• Undo / Redo — Ctrl+Z steps back through search states; Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y steps forward.

Build a curated list of moments

• Checkboxes control which entries are included when you export Timestamp Links.
• Select All / None, Delete, and Prev / Next for navigation and bulk actions.
• Click a header arrow to expand or collapse a batch; click any entry to seek the video.
• Add a transcript line manually to the list from the export context menu ★ Pro.

Read, follow, and control the video

• View modes — Toggle Line-by-line and Continuous text.
• Font size — Size slider, or Ctrl + scroll over the transcript. Ctrl+0 or the reset button restores default.
• Minimap ★ Pro — Vertical strip of coloured dots for every Timestamp Link match. Click a dot to jump. Show/hide with the ▾ button at the far right of the video-info row (Title / Channel / Duration). Preference is remembered.
• Sync offset — Coarse (seconds) and fine (ms) sliders when captions lag or lead the audio. Double-click a slider to reset. The same offsets apply to Teleprompter and export.
• Following — Transcript auto-scrolls to keep the current spoken line in view.
• Play / Pause / Stop — Control the video from the overlay.
• [ In ] / [ Out ] — Mark a range for focused listening or looping.
• Selection / Copy mode — Toggle between “click to seek” and free text selection (copied on mouse release).

Make it yours

• Themes — Open the palette button for multiple carefully designed themes (light, dark, and specialised colourways). Default on first load is Deep Ocean. Choice is remembered.
• Opacity — Let the video show through the panel to any degree.
• Layout slots A & B — Short-press to recall a saved position and size; long-press to save the current layout.
• Minimise — Collapse to a small circular icon; click again to restore.

Scroll in sync with the video ★ Pro

• Click Teleprompter in the main panel. Hover the teleprompter to reveal gear (settings) and close.
• Settings update live and are saved automatically. Use 1-column or 2-column layout; position is remembered per mode.

Teleprompter Settings (2-column) — view-mode profiles, lines, text, cascade, background, active-line highlight, sync offset.

• Lines Before / After — Surrounding lines around the active line.
• Font, colour, bold, text shadow — Full appearance control.
• Scale font with panel — Font grows or shrinks as you resize the panel.
• Cascade — Non-active lines scale down and fade with distance.
• Background — Optional solid background with colour and opacity.
• Active line highlight & border — Emphasise the current line.
• Anchor to video — Panel follows the video player while you scroll the page (Normal/Cinema only).
• View-mode profiles (N / C / F) — Short-press to recall, long-press to save configurations for YouTube’s Normal, Cinema, and Fullscreen layouts.

Export menu — Timestamp Links left, full transcript right, plus synced vs original timestamps.

• Full transcript — Plain text and clipboard free; SRT, CSV, JSON, Markdown Pro.
• Only checked Timestamp Links entries are included when exporting links.

Open the full list any time via the ⚙ button (Shortcuts tab).

Work faster

• Combine Append Search with colour batches to build a multi-topic timestamp list for one video.
• Use Layout A for a compact side panel and Layout B for a larger research view.
• Fix sync offset once — it applies to seeking, Following, Teleprompter, and exports.
• Lock the URL for screen recording or comparing transcripts across tabs.
• In Teleprompter, enable “Scale font with panel” and resize until the text feels right for your distance.
• The minimap is especially useful on long videos with many scattered matches.
• Export Markdown or JSON (Pro) when you want to process results in other tools.
